The Kraken

“…It is the nature of this creature to swallow men and ships, and even whales and everything else within reach.” – Örvar-Oddr

I’ve always loved (and feared) creatures with tentacles.  The idea, the moment, when a hungry beast reaches for you from all over and all around.  Finally, it snatches you up and then drags you into its snapping mouth.

That horrible moment is what has always drawn me to the KRAKEN.

When writing “Windsong & Requiem: Of a Great Deep,” the giant octopus-squid creature was the first monster to cross the pages.  Check out the video below for more about the myth of the legendary eight-armed terror of the seas!
